Picture One (Main Support)
This picture was taken at a new construction luxury home in Batavia, Ohio. The main beam was shimmed up one foot over the foundation because on our previous inspection we had noticed that the contractor installed 8 foot basement walls instead of 9 foot that our client specifically requested. The wood shims are not the best solution for this mistake. As you can see, staining is already taking place due to moisture. These shims are not attached properly and are susceptible to wood destroying insects as well. Steel shims would have been a much better solution. This was in our report.

Picture Two (Distribution Wire)
This photo was taken in a 40 year old home in Batavia Ohio. Although, the loose distribution wire that is pictured, is not energized; House To Home Inspections recommended the wire be properly terminated and even possibly removed to avoid potential injury. Many Home Inspectors would not note this item because it is not an immediate safety issue. We ALWAYS put our clients first!

This photo was taken in Cincinnati Ohio in the Norwood section of the city. You will notice that the supporting aggregate material has washed away after many years of neglect. The current home owner tried to unsuccessfully shim several areas which was noted in our report.
